2022 Veteran’s Day Parade Grand Marshall, Lawrence’s own Warren Corman. He was a WWII U.S. Navy Seabee who spent two years in a construction battalion in the Battle of Okinawa from 1944 to 1946. After the war he enrolled at KU and studied architecture from 1946 to 1950, graduating with B.S. Architectural Engineering 1950. Corman also served as a licensed Professional Engineer and Architect, the Director of Facilities, Kansas Board of Regents and the KU University Architect. He was associated with numerous facility projects during his life but helping designing the loudest arena in college basketball Allen Field House and the Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics are among his favorite accomplishments.
